Community Benefits

Camarena Health’s Community Benefit program works with the community, government entities, schools, Camarena Health’s Community Benefit program works with the community, government entities, schools, and health care providers to improve the health of the communities of Madera County. The programs focus is to help whenever possible to ensure our neighbors, families, and friends get the help and information needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle and also responds to identified community needs and addresses gaps among disadvantaged and vulnerable populations.

Through Outreach, we lend our expertise to our patients, visitors and community. We reach out knowing that we have a responsibility to do our part to help our community thrive. Outreach is a part of health care that is delivered beyond the walls of our center. Last year, we were shared about our services, health education and physical activity at 85 community events. This outreach is done at:

  • Apartment complexes – we take services such as health education, health screenings, and dental information
  • Health fairs – community fairs, employee fairs, schools presentation to parents during school meetings, and county fairs

We also fundraiser throughout the year to provide funds for programs like our:

  • Reach out and read program – which provides books for kids that are age appropriate
  • Scholarships – scholarship for students pursuing a career in healthcare
  • Car Seats – provides car seats for our prenatal patients, making sure that parents are properly trained in installing car seats and we also provide them with one
  • American Heart Association – support the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk

Who do we outreach to: all the community but specifically to the under-served population of Madera county. We take our services to people who wouldn’t be able to access medical services. We outreach and educate the community about the importance of preventative care, healthy meals, and physical activity
