Three voices. One shared legacy. Shaped by 45 years of care.
The story of Camarena Health lives in the people who have helped shape it. For 45 years, employees, providers, and community leaders have carried forward a shared commitment to care for the communities they serve.
Mary Noriega, Community Outreach Coordinator, remembers when Camarena Health was still Madera Family Health: a single clinic operating out of a small building with just a few dozen employees.

“We were small, but we were all working toward the same goal, to care for our community.”
Mary has watched that shared goal guide decades of growth. What began as one clinic has become a healthcare network serving communities across the Central Valley.
Physician Assistant Jessie “Jay” Sumner has seen that change from the exam room. When he joined Camarena Health, there were only a handful of providers, and the clinic needed constant repairs.

“To see what it has become today has been incredible.”
Through all that growth, Jay has held on to the connection he felt from the beginning. “That small-town feel—that sense of connection—that’s what has kept me here all these years.”
For Board President Monic Wilhite, Camarena Health’s legacy is also reflected in its willingness to keep finding ways to serve.

Monic Wilhite
“There has never been a limit to what we can do to serve our patients.”
Mary, Jay, and Monic have each seen Camarena Health’s journey from a different perspective. Together, their stories speak to what has endured across 45 years: a commitment to the people and communities at the heart of its work.
As Camarena Health looks ahead, that commitment continues to guide its care—today and for generations to come.
