At Camarena Health, we believe that the best way to strengthen our care for the community is by investing in the people who deliver it. In 2024, that belief took shape through our first in-house Clinical Medical Assistant (M.A.) Training Program — a 12-week, grant-funded initiative that allowed team members to advance their skills without stepping away from the patients they serve.
Developed in partnership with Central Valley Health Network (CVHN) and Jewish Vocational Service (JVS), the program was designed to make education accessible and achievable. Participants could earn new clinical skills while continuing their day-to-day roles, blending hands-on experience with classroom instruction.
With additional support from the Madera County Workforce Assistance Center’s Incumbent Worker Program, each participant was paid throughout their training — ensuring that financial barriers didn’t stand in the way of growth.
Last May, ten dedicated team members became the first to graduate from the program, marking a milestone for both their careers and the organization. Their success is a testament to what’s possible when an employer prioritizes education, empowerment, and opportunity from within.
As we celebrate this inaugural class, we look forward to continuing to grow our talent pipeline, nurture internal advancement, and strengthen the future of care across the Central Valley.
