Resilience in Action
From the front desk to clinician, Julie Juarez’s story is one of determination, growth, and resilience in action.
A teen mom balancing school, work, and parenthood, Julie learned early what it meant to fight for her future. When she joined Camarena Health in 2011, she brought with her that same drive — and never stopped moving forward.
Over the next decade, Julie wore many hats. She served as a health educator, a program coordinator, and later as assistant to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joel Ramirez. Yet, through every role, she carried a bigger dream: becoming a licensed clinician to help others overcome the same kinds of challenges she once faced.
Determined to make it happen, Julie enrolled in a Master of Social Work program, completing her coursework and clinical hours right here at Camarena Health — all while working full time. Many days stretched past twelve hours, but Julie found support and mentorship in leaders like Dr. Ramirez and Behavioral Health Director Rosalba Serrano Rivera, who encouraged her every step of the way.
In 2025, Julie will take her next step — officially stepping into her new role as a Behavioral Health Clinician. For her, this milestone represents far more than a career achievement. It’s a chance to give back to the community that shaped her and to show her children what perseverance can become.
