After more than five years, Camarena Health was proud to welcome back its Community Health & Resource Fair—and the community showed up in an incredible way. After more than five years, Camarena Health was proud to welcome back its Community Health & Resource Fair—and the community showed up in an incredible way. The fair also served as a local kickoff to National Health Center Week, joining health centers across the country in celebrating the essential role they play in strengthening the communities they serve.
Hundreds of community members joined us on July 16 for a morning filled with health, resources and family fun. Around 20 community partners came together to connect families with valuable services and support, while children received free backpacks and school supplies to help them prepare for the new school year. Attendees also enjoyed health screenings, activities for kids, food boxes provided by the Madera County Food Bank and hourly raffles featuring prize baskets and giveaways.
"Our Health & Resource Fair is about bringing our community together and connecting families with the services and support they need. It was wonderful to see so many families come out and enjoy a meaningful morning together."
Lizette Contreras, Director of Community Development
Bringing this event back for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic made the morning especially meaningful. Seeing families, community organizations, volunteers and team members gathered together again was a powerful reminder of what can happen when our community comes together with a shared purpose.
This event was more than a morning of giveaways and activities; it was another reflection of Camarena Health’s continued commitment to supporting the health and well-being of the communities we serve.
